Happy Tails: Something to Wag About!!

Chunk / Dakota

Back to the Happy Tails Main Page

Hi,

My name is Kathy, my family adopted Chunk, now known as Dakota, from the Northeast Animal Clinic on May 4, 2009. She now lives with us, a great family that includes Myself, Husband, 3 daughters (ages 12, 10 and 8), 2 cats and 2 fish. Unfortunately we were only able to adopt one of the puppies, I know your letter was hoping some of the puppies would be able to stay together.

She has adjusted wonderfully and has enjoyed car rides to the beach in Connecticut where my family lives. We would like to know some more history about her. You said she was found in a drainage pipe with her family. Was the mother dog a stray, maybe lost or ran away to have her pups like some dogs do? Did the mother dog go to the shelter as well? I never thought to look for her there. We have been trying to figure out what breeds she is a mix of to understand her personality and know how large she will be. Do you have any photos of the entire litter and mother? If she was found near your neighborhood, do you have any ideas of what breeds she may be?

Thank you for saving her and bringing her to the shelter. I hope to have many many years with her.

This picture is from her first night with us.

Kathy
